Why it protects car and marine batteries
Because battery cables run straight from the terminal to the load, a short circuit can dump very high current in milliseconds. Consequently, installers choose a dedicated battery fuse holder rather than an ordinary terminal block. For example, an 800A link protects a heavy inverter-to-battery cable in a yacht. However, you must never size the fuse above the cable’s ampacity. In addition, the <5mΩ contact resistance limits I²R heating.
How to install
First, mount the holder close to the battery positive terminal. Next, connect the battery lead and the load lead to the studs. Then insert the correct battery protection fuse. Finally, torque the fasteners to the recommended value and snap on the cover. If you need a specific stud size, simply specify at order time.
